Item is dated 25 July 1833. Located on the western side of the Isle of Arran, King's cove has always attracted attention. Not only is it believed to the site where the legendary Robert the Bruce fled after murdering his rival John Comyn, but it also contains a number of Christian and Pictish carvings. The main grouping of images depict one large cross, one smaller cross and a man whose hands are joined above his head. A group of serpents are carved into the wall nearer to the entrance of the cave.
