Banks of Loch Ness

The road depicted on the left of the picture was built by General Wade in 1732 and follows the east bank of Loch Ness. According to Skene this view is set near the General's hut near the Fall of Foyers at the site of the Foyers Hotel. Wade used these huts when he was supervising the building of his roads. These were temporary structures which no longer exist.
