Title
Stockbridge Market
Description
A view of St Stephen's Place, Edinburgh and the archway leading to the Stockbridge Market. Shops and houses line the street, all of which have stairways down to basements. An advert from Fry's Chocolate appears on one of the shops. The archway has columns on either side which support a pediment inscribed with the name of the market and the words - Butcher Meat, Fruits, Fish and Poultry. A large lamp supported by ornate metal brackets hangs over the entrance. Two boys are standing talking in the archway. A sign offering stalls to let hangs on the market wall.
