Edinburgh and Scottish Collection
The town of Linlithgow is situated roughly 18 miles to the west of Edinburgh. It is served by the Glasgow to Edinburgh railway line and the Union Canal which runs from Edinburgh to Falkirk. The town has long established royal connections and was famously the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. These connections diminished following the Union of the Crowns in 1603. Several notable buildings, including the Town House, St Michael's Parish Church and Linlithgow Palace attract large numbers of visitors to the town.
