Biography
Alexander Adam Inglis was born in Aberdeen in the late 1840s. He was a professional photographer from 1881 based at Rock House, Calton Hill. Rock House already had an impressive photographic pedigree by this time, having already been home to D. O. Hill and Robert Adamson, John and Thomas Annan and Archibald Burns. Members of the Inglis family continued to work from Rock House until the mid 20th century. Alexander Adam Inglis was a Royal Warrant Photographer to both Edward VII and George V.
