George Pratt and a Fool
Description
George Pratt, was at one time the town crier of Edinburgh. He is standing on the left of the picture and appears to be ringing his small hand bell in the ear of the other man who has turned his head. Both men are wearing coats and the town crier also wears a hat.

"Honest George, who was for many years city bell-man, has already had the honour of a place in the body of the work. The name of the 'fool' is unknown."
