The accompanying text in 'The Clans of the Scottish Highlands' by James Logan begins as follows: "CLAN ROSICH, NA GILLE ANDRAS Ros is a Celtic word, descriptive of a brow, or point of land, and it is found in the different countries which have been possessed by that race. The name, therefore, as a personal designation, is local, and an individual holding the land, or there residing, was distinguished by the preposition de: hence there must have been individuals of this name in Ireland, Wales, and even England."
