Carmyllie is a rural parish in Angus, Scotland. It is situated on high ground between Arbroath, on the coast, and the inland county town of Forfar. The main settlements in the parish are Redford, Greystone, Guynd and Milton of Carmyllie.
Mary Webster, the artist, was born in 1794 to John Webster, Minister of the Parish Church at Inverarity. The family lived in Inverarity, a village seven miles north of Dundee until her father died in 1807 and they moved to live with Mary's mother's family in Carmyllie.
