Title
Jackson - Edinburgh street reciter
Description
A balding man raises his arms in the air and looks to the sky. One leg is barefoot and the other is wooden from the knee down. He is wearing a tailcoat and waistcoat and his trousers are ragged at the ankle.

The poet, Donald Campbell has written a poem inspired by this character by Holt:

Jackson the Reciter

Jackson never plays a part;
his greatest joy is to declaim.
Reciting is his only art.
and never has he played a part.
The words he speaks come from the heart.
Let others look for wealth and fame
Jackson has never played a part
in any play you care to name.
