Craiglockhart is a southwestern suburb of Edinburgh which became part of the city in 1920. Craiglockhart Tower or Castle, now a ruin, dates from the 13th century, and is associated with the Lockhart of Lee family. Napier University's Craiglockhart Campus is a grand 19th century building which has been both a hydropathic institution and, during the First World War, a military hospital. The poets Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon were both patients of the hospital at this time.
