This photograph records the Cramond Association fencing off Cramond Tower in 1963, prior to boarding it up and putting a dangerous building notice on it. This image was possibly taken by Dougie Brown, Cramond Association member.
Cramond Tower dates from the 15th century. Originally the palace of the Bishops of Dunkeld, it was acquired by the Douglas family in 1574.
