Title
Monaco letters, pg. 2, Jan. 1877, from 'Gleanings from the "Graphic"' by Randolph Caldecott
Description
Second page of a letter dated Jan. 1877, from Monaco. The handwritten text continues and inset within it are 4 small pictures.

The text begins, "On the other side of the bay is Monte Carlo, with its gay villas, [and] hotels, [and] little chapel...
This is most probably the first picture; buildings stretch up a small hillside from the sea.

The second picture is roughly in the centre of the page and shows, "The centre of the Principality - the part between the old town [and] Monte Carlo" called La Condamine. Buildings stretch around a curved bay. On the far left stands a tree without any leaves and a little further along some boats have been pulled ashore.

At the bottom of the page, a woman and a child walk beside orange and lemon orchards on the left. And on the right, we see a view of a church through a large curved archway.
