The Queen's visit to Huntly House was part of her first official visit to Scotland as monarch in June 1952. As the royal train pulled into Princes Street Station, jets screamed overhead in an 'E' formation. On the platform, Edinburgh's Lord Provost handed Queen Elizabeth the keys to the city. The entourage proceeded to the Palace of Holyrood where they took up residence for 6 days of ceremony and sightseeing.
