The accompanying descriptive text in the volume begins as follows:
'Broxmouth Park, a seat of His Grace the duke of Roxburghe, is situated in the parish of Dunbar, East Lothian, and is now occupied as a jointure house by The Duchess Dowager of Roxburghe.
The mansion house is a square commodious building, with a broad unadorned front and equally plain sides. It stands in a sheltered situation, surrounded with hills and dales, and everything to make it a most desirable residence.'
Broxmouth Park is now a wedding venue
