Dunblane Cathedral is a medieval cathedral church, dating back to the 12th century. It serves the town of Dunblane, near Stirling, in Perthshire.

Christianity was first established in this area by Saint Blane, a Scottish Bishop who was born in Bute, and though his birth date is unknown he died in 590 so was alive around this period. It is believed he established a monastery on Holme Hill in Dunblane.

The Cathedral as it is today comes largely from the 13th Century during the appointment of Clement, a Dominican Friar, as Bishop. He raised money to finish the Cathedral by appealing to the Pope and being granted money by the Church in 1237. It has been altered and added to over the years since. In 1560 the Church of Scotland became reformed or protestant and around the 16th Century the roof of the Nave fell in. It remained this way until a wide scale restoration of the Cathedral in 1893.

To this day the Cathedral remains in use by the Church of Scotland and is in the care of Historic Environment Scotland.
