Description
10th March 1917 "Train" en route for Stockholm.
Yes, it's quite true I'm writing this in the train en route for Stockholm & I hope home! We have actually got out of Russia & shaken the "snow" of Russia from off our feet! We left Petrograd at day-break on the 8th; the day before, we decided to take the law into our own hands & risk it & anyhow we've got so far, it now remains to be seen when we will actually get "back to Blighty".
We thought the sooner we got out of Petrograd the better, as things were beginning to get "some" warm there, in a very short time there will be news from there, if I'm not mistaken. The outside world may be surprised at the news to come, but those who have been in
Russia & more especially in Petrograd for the last few months will not be surprised at anything that happens there. There's trouble ahead methinks.
Well - to go on with our own adventures! We had a very, very early start on Thursday morning, in fact it was the middle of the night you might say! We made our way to the Finnish Station, hauling our bundles
