Description
situated. Some of the streets are quite imposing thoroughfares - i.e. The Deribasovskaya, Pushkinskaya & Preobrazkenskaya. Odessa is very proud of her Boulevard & of her Opera House! The weather is wonderful, cold but dry & clear & sunny. Will write again soon./

Jan 7th 1917 Odessa
To-day is the Russian Xmas - 13 days after ours. We gave the patients a Xmas tea & had a tree for them. We lighted it up about 4 o'cl: & distributed little presents, crackers, sweets, fruit, cigarettes etc. to each of them. I think they've all enjoyed their day immensely - they were all very happy & jolly anyway. The ward looked so nice & quite Xmasy - we spent yester:evening decorating.
Nothing of note has occurred since I wrote last - we've been busy in the hospital & in "off-time" have explored or "tea-ed" out. We are all enjoying being here. Think of it we've got our camp beds & kit bags once again! Our kit bags!! We were like children exploring a Xmas stocking, when we first got 'em to ourselves! They seem to be full of all sorts of unknown treasures! I'll post this wee letter to-night & write a longer one soon./
