Description
just have to sleep in one of the side wards, not just "the thing" as it means going through the big ward every time we go out or in,
or when we want to wash etc:! Well - so long./

Dec 29th 1916 Odessa.
We have been very busy all week getting our Hospital in order & getting in patients. It all looks so nice now & quite professional! I'm in the theatre, it is topping. I'm most awfully pleased I've got that job & am quite happy & in my element.
The theatre is perfectly ripping, it might just have been specially designed for an operating theatre. I hope we get plenty of "ops" - just heaps & heaps! Blood thirsty? Yes.
The rest of "B" unit arrived the beginning of the week - at least not quite all - but the larger half - i.e. matron, 4 sisters, Fordie (the cook), & Clack (laundry superintendant [superintendent]), they came from Reni - where Dr. Inglis is at present.
So now we are fully staffed - over-staffed we feel; at least compared to what we've had since the days of our base hospital at Megidia. Xmas day we spent scrubbing & cleaning - we held it not, instead tried to forget it was Xmas.
Our patients are all Russian, except for one Serb & one English
