I will write a few lines as Dr. Chesney is going to Odessa to-morrow & will take letters for us. I don't remember when I wrote you last. The days are all so alike here - same routine - Hospital & when "off duty" we usually go for a walk or prowl about the market & the town to see what we can see.
The news is very black. Bucharest has fallen & they are coming on rapidly towards Braila & Galatz.
Braila has already been evacuated. The Russians are concentrating at the Pruth & are determined to hold the frontier at all costs. If once the fiends get over the Pruth there's nothing to stop them &
on they'll sweep to Odessa.
We have started to evacuate our patients, as our "marching orders" have come & we expect to move from here on Sat: the 16th. We do not know for certain, where our
