Description
The Hospital is still full & always plenty to do there.The weather is intensely cold & as we have no heating or fire in this hut of ours & our barrack-room is "some" cold; we are not relishing this climate & find life decidedly chillsome!
The news seems very bad & Bucharest may fall any moment now. "Our gallant little ally Rumania"
is making a brave show!! Why ever did she interfere in this war? The whole country is pro-German.
The men mightn't be so bad if they were properly officered - but their officers are impossible, conceited, dressed up fops - powdered & painted & "dressed up to the nines". All they think about is their personal appearance - when fighting is the order of the day they run away - they are experts at that game! Oh yes, we've got a brave & noble ally, we have!
7th We had a nice old gallop again this afternoon, but they "pinned us down" to an hour & only only let us have the gees for an hour, as the old sillies said we brought them back "in a sweat" yesterday, rubbish. The latest rumour is that the wounded are pouring
