Castle from King's Stables
Description
Edinburgh Castle sits on a rockly outcrop. The fortification has a half-moon battery with gun loops in its walls. Below the castle is a sloping drying area with washing poles and lines. A road cuts between this area and a group of houses, another road runs alongside buildings some of which have pantile roofs. A horse and cart is travelling along the cobblestone road. A handcart is beside steps outside the doorway of a house, further along the road there are barrels next to a lean-to building.
