Description
A view looking down on the steep dry ski slope at Hillend in the south of Edinburgh. Bordering the slope on the right side are a row of hanging chairs suspended from the cables and poles of the ski lift system. The ski centre is surrounded by rolling fields.

Helped by an internet campaign, Hillend Ski Centre was saved from closure in 2011. The slope has been the training ground over the years for about 30 Olympians, including Alain Baxter and Finlay Mickel.
