J. Meldrum, drysalters and hardware store, stands on the corner of the Pleasance, Edinburgh. The shop has many items displayed in the window as well as baskets hanging in the doorway. Metal advertising signs for soap and Nestles chocolate decorate the side of the building. In front of the shop a woman and three children stand watched over by people hanging out of a window above. The street has a row of shops with tenement housing above them.
