A row of rather run-down shops occupy the ground level of tenement buildings at North Richmond Street, Edinburgh. Two men in suits and flat caps are leaning casually against the front of a sales room having a discussion whilst an older gentleman with a large pipe keenly watches the photographer. Two confectioner's shops and the Edinburgh Linoleum Store can also be seen.
