Tunny started his early career following in his father's footsteps as a shoemaker, but by 1852 he had changed career and went on to become a very successful photographer. The photographs in this exhibition are all dated 1854, in the early days of photography, and show a city where travel is powered by horses and toll gates meet you at its boundaries.
