Current exhibition

This exhibition sets out the Forth Bridge Accidents Book, 1883-1886. This book in the collections of Queensferry Museum lists all recorded accidents during the first three years of construction of the Forth Bridge. It is published here for the first time complete with a full transcription.

This exhibition marks the 120th anniversary of McDonald Road Library. Thomas Nelson had bequeathed £50,000 for “the erection, furnishing, maintenance and management of shelter halls in the poor districts of Edinburgh, to be used as places to which persons of the working class and others, can go and sit and read, write, converse, and otherwise occupy themselves”. McDonald Road was to be the third such building after Fountainbridge (1897) and Stockbridge (1900).

This exhibition brings together photographs and drawings of St Giles Cathedral by the renowned architect Dr Thomas Ross who had a long-standing connection to the place.
