ReDrawing Edinburgh: Edinburgh in 1920

The Edinburgh Boundaries Extension & Tramways Act of 1920 meant significant change for the city. It grew from 17 to 53 square miles and increased its population from 320,000 to 425,000, incorporating the Burgh of Leith and the Midlothian parishes of Cramond, Corstorphine, Colinton and Liberton. This exhibition gives a glimpse into what life was like in 1920 Edinburgh and the difference in character of the various areas affected.
