Popularly known as 'Cannles Close'. Leith Candle Company had premises here in the mid-19th century, hence the common name.
Old Sugarhouse Close ran between 90 St Andrew Street and Tolbooth Wynd which it reached through a pend next to Hughes & Hudson the sawmakers at No. 40.
