Description
A statue of Sherlock Holmes in Picardy Place, Edinburgh. It stands on a sandstone plinth which has red curtains unveiling a plaque. Two policemen stand on either side of the statue, a cameraman, photographer and other people can be seen behind.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born in Picardy Place, Edinburgh in 1859.The author is commemorated by a statue of his most famous literary creation, Sherlock Holmes, which was erected in Picardy Place in 1991.
