After divorcing David and Mollie's father, Henry Liang Watt (not pictured), and returning to Edinburgh, Jessie McEwan Sanderson, nee Blair (pictured left), set up a new home at 59 Raeburn Place in Stockbridge. During the 1920s, Jessie moved from Stockbridge to become the housekeeper for widowed George Sanderson. Aligning with the custom of the time, Jessie and George married and resided at 35 Melville Street until George's death in the mid 1930s.
Jessie's son David Watt married Catherine "Cassie" Richardson Ritchie (pictured right), daughter of clockmaker Leone "Leo" Levi Ritchie and his wife Mary Sim Ritchie (nee Hill) on 10 July 1926.
