Killin is a town in Perthshire. It is situated at the west end of Loch Tay, roughly 35 miles west of Perth. The Ben Lawers group of Munros lie a short distance to the north-east of Killin, on the north-west side of Loch Tay.
At times the signature of an artist on a painting or print can sometimes be followed by the term Pinx, P, Pinxit or Pictor. These terms are from the Latin, Pinxit which means painted and simply indicates that the painting, or in the case of a print, the original item, was painted by the named person.
