Excerpt from page "Deanhaugh, Stockbridge 1824 - The lands of Deanhaugh extending to above two acres lying on the north side of the Water of Leith immediately above Stockbridge are to be fued in building stances agreeably to a ground plan and elevation plan now prepared.
The ground is laid out by a plan as to afford both respectable family residence and in (other quarters of the plan) what are termed flatted houses, with and without shops in the lower flats. Conditions of feu etc. may be seen in the hands of John Tait Jun W.S 4 Abercromby Place or by Robert Dobson, Builder 19 Dundas Street". E.E.C.Fec 5 1824.
