Sir,

I am directed to acquaint you that the sum of thirteen pounds, ten shillings and two pence, is due from Army Funds to the estate of the late No. 352442 Private Colin Rice, 1/9th Battalion, Royal Scots, including War Gratuity, being the balance of pay due to him.

The Command Paymaster, Eastern Command, Science Museum, Exhibition Road, South Kensington, London, SW7, has accordingly been authorized to issue to you the above amount, of which on half is by Scottish Law the property of the late soldier's sister Jane, and must be paid to her by you accordingly.

I am, Sir,
Your obedient Servant.
