Description
An early bird's eye view of Edinburgh. Drawn from the hills surrounding the town. It shows the original Old Town perched on the volcanic crag and tail with Edinburgh Castle at its head and Holyroodhouse at its foot. Many church spires can be seen among the buildings. Groups of mounted soldiers are riding down through the fields surrounding the town. On the far side lies the Firth of Forth, which is filled with many galleons and ships. Beyond the sea is the Fife coast.
