The accompanying descriptive text in the volume begins as follows:
'Loganbank, the residence of Harry Maxwell Inglis, Esq., is situated in the Parish of Glencorse, about eight miles south-west of Edinburgh.
It was originally a small thatched house, and has been gradually enlarged until it has taken its present form under the superintendence of the well-known architect, the late David Bryce, R.S.A.'

Loganbank House is still a private residence.
