Three figures wrapped in classical robes and supported by a bunch of yellow lilies, recline and rest as the sun sets on the horizon. The accompanying text reads:
"When Lilies of the day are done,
And sunk the golden westering sun".

In this depiction of Lilies personified Crane once again positions the figures in a way so that they mirror the natural curves of the plants that they embody. He also takes into account the colour of the flowers and how they match the image of the setting-sun.
