Edinburgh Castle from the east
The houses of Castlehill lead up to the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle where cars, vans and buses are parked. The area is busy with groups of men, women and children walking to and from the castle. Around the Esplanade are many monuments which include statues, obelisks and celtic crosses. The monuments include those for Earl Haig, the Duke of York, Ensign Ewart and those commemoratiing conflicts in Afghanistan.
