Green silk banner for Scottish Co-operative Women's Guild, St Cuthbert's Branches
Description
One green silk banner for the St. Cuthbert's Branch of the Scottish Co-op Women's Guild. The banner is painted on one side and has green cotton backing. The banner's title scroll cartouche reads, 'ST. CUTHBERT'S BRANCHES S.C.W.G. (top) IN SECTION IV (bottom). The bottom scroll has thistles at the ends. The centre panel features a sheaf of wheat and a scroll which reads, 'PEACE THROUGH CO-OPERATION'. There are bluebells on either side and two doves above. Below the banner reads, 'UNITY IS STRENGTH'. In each lower corner of the banner is a beehive. The fringe is comprised of silk and cotton. Along the lower edge there are six pole loops.
