A man in Victorian dress leans over a bridge. Behind him is the city of Florence, the river Arno and a further bridge. Cropped on the very far right is a standing statue of a nude. Above the picture, is the title: "Mr. Oakball's Winter in Florence." And below and to the right is the text: "In December we found Oakball lolling on a bridge over the Arno. To overcome lowness of spirits and improve his appetite his mother had sent him alone to try the light climate and interesting life of Florence."
