Description
Frontispiece picture, Randolph Caldecott's collection, 'More "Graphic" Pictures'. In the bottom left of the picture sits its title, 'An Effect of Snow'.

A group of women, with a young girl and a dog beside them, are throwing snowballs at a young man. The picture shows the moment when a snowball has hit his hat and knocked it off his head. The hat is mid-air, and about to fall. The women and young girl are dressed in jackets, hats and long dresses - and the young man has a jacket on and carries a walking stick.
Snow covers the ground. Behind them is a fence and a variety of trees.
