The photographs in this exhibition were kindly loaned to us by Bill Hall for our digital collections. It contains images dating from the early 1900s to the 1980s, taken across Scotland.

Brought up in Edinburgh he has collected many family photographs and items covering his mother's early years and his own boyhood.

The Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants was a trade union of railway workers in the UK from 1872 until 1913 when together with other rail unions merged to form the National Union of Railwaymen.
