always too weary to bother about "them things" & too thankful to be able to step at all. Oh those guns how they are booming - things seem to be getting worser & worser.
Can't write more now - about dead, must turn in or rather "turn-out"!!
27th We started at 5a.m. yesterday & went on all day & all night & are still moving on, ever on - we didn't even halt for a couple of hours during the night as usual - "hurry on" being the order of the day. Things seem "worser" & the main thing now is to reach the pontoon bridge. We went through some magnificant [magnificent] scenery yesterday, gorgeous high mountains towering above us - big, blue
glorious hills, that just made me think of the Abriachans, & made me wish they were the Abriachans too! Just before dark, we went through the little town Machin [M?cin], a beautiful little village nestling, sheltered amongst the hills. The view from the top of the hill, before we descended in to the valley, was too lovely. Peak upon peak rising against the evening sky of orange & flame-colour, at our feet Machin [M?cin] with its thatched houses & stretching far, far below the beautiful
