I am rather mixed & uncertain as to when & where from, I wrote you last. I think it was just before we left Bolgrad, which must have been the 2nd . We "nine", still under the wing of the army, arrived here three days ago, we may be here for days, or it may be weeks, or perhaps months, that's the sort of life we're leading these days, everything is very "uncertain" & no use attempting to make any plans.
We have such a nice little Hospital here, 3 fine wards in a very good building about 10 mins walk from where we are billeted. It's so funny having a stationary hospital again, after tending the men in tents, in ambulance carts, on stretchers, on the field, everywhere
imaginable! We are billeted in a small 3 roomed house in the back part of the town surrounded by a stable. Damp, horrid, smelly quarters - & the ordinary, every day conveniences are nil! The sanitary conditions being too appalling for words. The town
