Description
at Hirishova & driven back slightly - some Russian Divisions have been sent up from the Caucausus [Caucasus].
Must away back "on duty" - so no more now.
31st We got sudden orders to move this morning, so bid adieu to Karagatch at 9.a.m. Back to the old game of trekking with a "jolt" in our carts at intervals. We stopped before dark at a little village & another "mud floor" was found for us. We are now sitting round "our" camp fire telling ghost stories, "writing up" & singing rag times to celebrate Hallow'een [Hallowe'en]!
Nov:1st We move off again in ½ an hour - 8 a.m.
Spent quite a comfie night in our snug little hovel. This is a desperately cold morning - we are not looking forward to our day's trek.
2nd We had such a day of it yesterday, it was so cold, a biting wind all day. We got to Bolgrad about 1:30 a.m. all so very cold & weary, we once more found a cottage & just dropped! We have been all morning here, so have just been out exploring. Bolgrad is quite an important town in Bessarabia, a railway junction between Odessa & Reni. It's an interesting
