Serbian Restaurant & there partook of a most recherché meal, consisting of omelettes, peaches, mulberries wine & coffee! A feast fit for the gods & still fitter for two thirsty "S.W."! After our light refreshment we "took to the road" (or rather the rugged path!) & footed it across the hills to our own place. A truly lovely tramp,which capped our day's outing. We reached home about 9p.m. tired but terribly pleased with our day off. To-day, the hospital claims me as its own again, but I don't like work after a whole day off!

July 2nd Verbliani.
We had a crowd of "brass hats" round the other day inspecting the hospital - the French General Furena, by name, he is W.M.S. in these parts, was the main "object of interest"! Col. Sdoideh & numerous "aides" were in his train. We're settling-in here & it doesn't look as if we would ever move elsewhere. All hopes of our being "mobile" have gone! Our theatre & dressing-rooms are almost finished being built. A "Caniak", or shelter for the patients who can walk about, is also being erected & should be a great joy to the men in this hot weather. It's quite a rough & ready affair, consisting of branches & twigs, but it makes a good
