cold weather & all round the room coloured rugs & cushions - no beds, or furniture, or such like encumbrances! Our Macedonian host & hostess were both most charming & it was quite astonishing how we all succeeded (& quite successfully, too!) in carrying on a conversation by means of signs & gesticulations & a mixture of English, French & Serbian words thrown in! We re-joined our old friend "Tin Lizzie" again about 4 o'cl:, went on a few kilos to a wee glen, where we had tea by a stream - a lovely spot carpeted with wild flowers & surrounded by trees of apricot, peach & almond blossom! We had a fine run home, reaching Salonique again shortly after 8 o'clock. Well - I hope my next entry will be from our own camp "up the line"!

Here we are at last, settled in our own camp & jolly nice it is too, to feel we've got a "move on" & will soon be hard at it.
We were delayed a couple of delays longer in Salonique owing to a terrific snow blizzard, which came upon us v. suddenly the middle of last week. So it was yest: before the roads would allow of us coming up here. We had a splendid run up - in
our own ambulances - leaving Salonique at 9a.m. & reaching here shortly after 2p.m. This spot is about 100 kilometres N.W.from Salonique, situated amongst (at least at the foot of!) gorgeous
