Text taken from page 518 reads - Showing the cloud of smoke and gas on the right, in the centre, and on the left: with bursting shells in the centre and left. The British gas-attack on the Hohenzollern Redoubt. First introduced by the Germans, gas warfare was soon embraced by all the combatants. By the end of the war, one in four of the artillery shells fired on the Western Front contained gas.
