The accompanying descriptive text in the volume begins as follows:
'Yester House, the chief residence of the Most Noble the Marquess of Tweeddale, is situated in the parish of the same name, East Lothian. It is a large building in the classical style of architecture, having a small wing at one end. It was designed by William Adam, architect, about the end of the last century, but has since been altered and improved.'

Yester House is still a private residence.
