An aerial view of Granton Harbour and housing along Lower Granton Road.The harbour mouth is busy with a lage number of small craft while there are other others docked near to Granton Pier.Crane arms point skyward along the quayside.Nearby is a small industrial site.There is a variety of housing and gardens and established trees are evident.

Granton Harbour, situated in the north of Edinburgh on the Firth of Forth, was constructed in the mid 19th century. In addition to acting as a fishing harbour it also provided an important link to Fife and the north of Scotland. From 1848 to 1890 a rail ferry was in operation carrying trains from Granton to Burntisland on the Fife coast.More information about the history and changing story of Granton Granton History Group can be found on their website
