This barge was found buried in the Union Canal, between Leamington Lift Bridge and Viewforth Bridge, during surveys for the Edinburgh Quay development. The 70 foot long horse-drawn barge was used to carry coal and farm produce from about 1840 to 1900, after which most goods were transported by train.
